Cheddar Beer Bread

Beer is basically liquid bread, so why not put it IN bread?! This bread is a hearty bread. Great to eat as a side dish, snack, or for breakfast!

Tools you'll need:

Bread pan

Pre-heated oven to 375 degrees

Mixing bowl

Sifter/strainer

Rubber spatula

Measuring cups

Liquid measuring glass

Measuring spoons

Cooling rack

Ingredients:

1/4 - 1/2 Cup melted unsalted butter (I used 1/4 cup or half a stick)

3 Cups all-purpose flour

3 tsp baking powder

1/2-1 tsp salt

1/2-1 tsp garlic powder

1/4 Cup sugar

1 can or bottle (12 oz) can of beer ideally room temperature and better if not a lite beer (You could substitute Sprite or 7Up, but it'll change the flavor)

1/2-1 Cup shredded cheese (I used cheddar)

1/2 Cup of bacon bits

OPTIONAL: Chives or jalapenos

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Sift the dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Not sifting will create an even denser bread. Sifting will help with the texture. Add the melted butter and beer. Mix well with the rubber spatula. Dump the mixture into a well greased bread pan and bake for about 50-60 minutes. Remove from the pan onto a cooling rack. Mangia!
