Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting

Tools you'll need:


Electric beater

Mixing bowl

Measuring spoons

Measuring cups

Liquid measuring glass

Microwave safe bowl


Ingredients:


3/4 - 1 Cup (1.5 - 2 sticks) softened unsalted butter

1 8 oz block of full fat cream cheese

1.75 - 2 Cups special dark or regular cocoa powder

5 - 5.5 Cups powdered (confectioner's) sugar

1/2 Cup + 3 Tbs whole milk or cream

OPTIONAL: A dash of vanilla extract


Instructions:


In a microwave safe bowl, soften the butter and cream cheese. You don't want them melted, just very soft. Add them to the mixing bowl. Add the 1/2 cup of milk/cream. Use the beater to cream together until smooth. Slowly add the cocoa powder and the powdered sugar. If not the right consistency add the 3 Tbs more of milk. Beat until smooth. If you want the vanilla, add at the end and beat until just mixed through. Mangia!
