Use my Cinnamon Bun recipe already on this blog. Below is the recipe for the apple pie filling.
Tools you'll need:
Sauce pot (medium)
Veggie peeler
Veggie knife
Ingredients:
6 Granny Smith apples peeled, sliced thick and cored
2 tbs unsalted butter
1/4- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs lemon juice
Instructions:
Place all ingredients in the sauce pot and put on med-low heat. Cook down and stir periodically until it has the consistency of very chunky apple sauce. There should still be a good amount of chunks. Let cool completely. I make it the day before and put it in the fridge, then pull it out when I start making the dough.
When making my cinnamon bun recipe, after spreading the cinnamon filling over the rolled out dough, spread over top the cinnamon filling. Roll the dough and finish the recipe as stated in my cinnamon bun recipe. Mangia!
